~WINTER HOLIDAYS~
With the cold, dark days of winter, there are many holidays and traditions celebrated around the world.  We read a story about these holidays and the meaning behind why people celebrate them.

~NEW WORK STATIONS~
On Monday, we introduced and started a new set of Work Stations.

At the Listening Station, children will listen to the story, When Will it Snow? and then complete a "response" sheet to the story.

When visiting the ABC Station, children will do the "G" page for their alphabet memory books.  For this activity, children will draw 2 different objects beginning with the /G/ sound.
At Math Magic, children will graph and record a "collection" of winter items.
When visiting the Sensory Tub, children are presented with an "I spy" task.  Using cards, children try to locate the objects pictured on the card, which are hidden in paper confetti.

At the Fine Motor Station, children use playdough and letter stampers to spell classmates' names and passwords.
At the Writing Station, children choose a booklet on one of our previous passwords to complete.

When children visit the Games Station during Work Station time, they can choose from a variety of games to do.  Olivia and Carter chose a memory game where you look to match a classmate's photo with his/her name.

Our final work station has children building 3-dimensional structures with cubes.

~FREE CHOICE LEARNING~
Anahí enjoys reading books in the Book Nook.
Children pictured below are authors creating stories.
Carter and Heath put their artistic skills to work!
Children are enjoying exploring with geoboards, which are wooden boards with 16 equally-spaced pegs.  Children stretch rubber bands to hook them on the pegs, creating shapes, designs, etc.   A great spatial, creative, and fine motor activity!

Heath and Carter are listening to a story with headphones.

We decorated our "Sh" with shells.

~STAR OF THE WEEK~
Jordan is our "Star of the Week".  We learned that Jordan's favorite food is pizza and when she grows up, she wants to be a mom.  We enjoyed seeing your photos and learning more about you, Jordan!

~EXTENDED DAY~
On Monday afternoon, we played a rhyming game on the SMARTBoard.
