CARE-ing Community Day

The Pre-K students were filled with excitement this morning in anticipation of our special friends/guests joining us for the afternoon.  We read a story this morning called The Thankful Book and shared with the group things for which we are thankful.  This also helped to prepare us for the activities we would do with our guests in the afternoon.
With their guests, children completed three tasks that were helpful or showing gratitude to others.
One task was coloring placemats that we will donate to a local food pantry, GRIN, to be passed out with Thanksgiving meals.

Another task was making a thankfulness card that children would give to their family drawing/writing things for which they are thankful.
Our final activity was decorating a bag and filling it with a snack mix.  These snack bags will be delivered to individuals in our school community who help us when we are at school, including....the school nurses, the security personnel, the chefs in the dining hall, etc.

Our guests accompanied our Pre-K class to Music.  The guests even had the chance to participate and sing!

MARVELOUS MONDAY 11-21-16

We started our short week with a new "Star of the Week" and a birthday celebration!
 ~BIRTHDAY~
We helped Jordan celebrate her November birthday.  Her mom and brother read a Fancy Nancy story and then we enjoyed eating decorated sugar cookies (by Jordan) for a birthday treat!

~STAR OF THE WEEK~
Olivia is our new Star of the Week!  We learned that Olivia's favorite food is hamburgers with ketchup and mustard and she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up.  We enjoyed seeing your photos and your horse ribbon, Olivia!
