WEDNESDAY 11-16 and THURSDAY 11-17

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY
ASK ME ABOUT...
...where I went and what I did for Work Stations.
...what I did in P.E.
...the story, All The Colors Of A Rainbow.
...what I learned about rainbows.
...wrapping gifts for the family we adopted.
...my Skittles graph.
...what numbers I practiced writing.

~KIDS 4 KIDS~
Thank you to all of the volunteers who came in Wednesday morning to assist our Pre-K children in wrapping gifts for the family we "adopted" for the holidays.  What a great community effort for a worthy cause!

~COLOR WEEK~
One of our color week activities was sorting and graphing Skittles candies.  Be sure to ask your child to show you his/her graph.  Then, ask your child the following questions:
~Which color had the most?
~Which color had the least?
~Did you have any colors that were equal?

~NUMBER WRITING~
Today we learned and practiced writing the numbers 6 and 7.

We learned about how rainbows form, the best time to look for a rainbow, and the order of the colors of a rainbow.

~FREE CHOICE LEARNING~
The veterinarians have been quite busy taking care of animals.
We decorated our letter J and j with jack-o-lanterns.
~EXTENDED DAY~
Today was a Discovery Day and we did a color experiment with milk, food coloring and dish soap.  Each child had his/her own tray with enough milk to cover the bottom of the tray.  Children added food coloring drops to the milk.  Then, they dipped a Q-tip into dish soap and touched the Q-tip to the food coloring.  Ask your child what happened when the dish soap touched the food coloring!  There were lots of "oohs" and "aahs" with this experiment!

THRILLING THURSDAY
ASK ME ABOUT...
...where I went and what I did for Work Stations.
...what I did in Spanish.
...the story, A Rainbow Of My Own.
...in my new Letter Group.

~OUTDOOR PLAY~
The weather was perfect for outdoor play today!  Children enjoyed using push brooms to sweep leaves into piles.

~COLORS~
Today the children added food coloring to water in an ice cube tray.  We are preparing colored ice cubes for a special color experiment we will observe and conduct tomorrow.

~EXTENDED DAY~
Today was a swimming day!
