~CLASS RULES~
Last week, we brainstormed rules that we should follow in order to play and learn safely when we are in our classroom and at school.  We condensed our ideas into 3 main rules which are...
We all signed the rules, promising to follow them so we can learn and play safely at school.

 ~FREE CHOICE LEARNING~
We added a counting basket to our Math Magic Station.  Children use a number chart to discover how many of an object are in the counting basket.  Right now, there are stars in it.

At the Alphabet Station, children can practice and reinforce their letter identification with the following new activity...
First, a child reaches into the tote bag and pulls out a letter.  Next, the child colors in that letter on his/her recording sheet.

 ~SOCIAL STUDIES~
Yesterday we read a book about ways that we are similar and ways we are different from each other.  Following the story, each child used an "unmarked" person cut-out to design and color to look like himself/herself.  We then created a graph to determine how many boys and how many girls are in our class.

~BUDDIES~
Today each Pre-K child met his/her two 3rd grade buddies.  We will continue to get together with our buddies periodically (once or twice a month) throughout the school year.  The Pre-K children were EXCITED to meet and play today with their buddies.  Your child brought home a list of our class buddies in his/her folder today so he/she can share with you the names of his/her buddies.

~SOCIAL STUDIES~
Today we read a story about and discussed the meaning of the Pledge of Allegiance.  We practiced saying it and discussed the different parts of the American Flag.

 ~EDP~
Below are photos from Art Class with Mr. Cicetti.  We have some budding artists!

This afternoon, Mr. Ditty read us the story, It's Okay to Be Different by Todd Parr.  The story emphasizes that each of us is unique and to celebrate our differences.
