~ACADEMY FAMILY~
Today we met 2 new members of our Academy family--our school nurses, Mrs. Fireman and Mrs. Hoagland.
~STORY TIME~
Today we read the story, There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Books! We read the story a second time using props. These props are now available in our class Book Nook for the children to use to retell the story.
~EDP~
After reading the book, The Busy Tree, we headed outside in search of a different tree to "adopt". The tree we adopted last week had some construction work done around it so we opted to find a new tree.
We found a tree close to our classroom and playground. Ms. Penney found out that the kind of tree we "adopted" is an American Basswood. The children explored the tree by doing bark rubbings and leaf rubbings. We noticed that the leaves are still mostly green with a few turning yellow.
