THRILLING THURSDAY 9-8-16
~EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
Pre-K children patiently waiting for dessert after lunch.
Last Friday, we went to visit the Art Room and to meet Mr. Cicetti.

...whose name was chosen to be the Super Star!
...what the Super Star does to help the teachers and classmates.

~Snack~
Today we introduced serving snack to ourselves during Free Choice time.
If children would like a snack, they find the star with their name and put it on the back of their chair at the snack table to "reserve" their spot. Next, children wash their hands at the sink.
Next, children serve themselves snack--including pouring their own drink! When finished eating, children return their star to the refrigerator placing it under the word, "yes".
~SUPER Star~
Ella was our first Super Star!! The Super Star is the special helper of the day, completing jobs including helping the teacher with calendar, playing the clean-up song, and being the line leader.
Extended Day
We did an activity that required teamwork and cooperation. Be sure to ask your child what we had to do to move the hoola hoop around our group.

Name Chart
Today we introduced our name chart which we will use as a reference for studying the letters and their sounds.
Word Wall
We also introduced our "Word Wall" today. Each child added a picture of himself/herself with his/her name to the Word Wall. We will also add a new word to our Word Wall each week.

Second Step
Today Mr. Ditty visited our classroom and talked about feelings.
