~ZERO THE HERO DAY~
On Wednesday, we celebrated our 20th day of school!  Sajan and his mom provided us with a fun activity (that was also yummy) to celebrate Zero the Hero Day--cereal necklaces.  Thank you for helping us celebrate!
We have filled two 10-frames.

~SELF-PORTRAITS~
On Wednesday, we read the story Me I Am! which reinforces how each of us is unique and special in our own way.  Following the story, each child drew a self-portrait.  We will keep these self-portraits and ask the children to do the same task at the end of the school year.  It is amazing the growth you will see in the 2 drawings.

 ~EDP~
Wednesday was a Cooking Day and we made apple crisp.  Before we started, we read the book,
A Tree Is A Plant, which explains the growth of an apple tree.   Following the story,  the children cut apple slices into small pieces; measured and mixed the ingredients; and enjoyed eating the finished product!

~EDP~
Thursday was a Discovery Day.  We headed outdoors--with a small amount of sprinkling rain--to visit our tree.  Ms. Penney laid a white sheet under our tree and then gently shook the tree as we watched items fall from the tree.  Next, the children were provided with magnifying glasses to explore and discover the items on the sheet.  Of course, small spiders and stink bugs seemed to be the most popular items to investigate.  Children also used their magnifying glasses to more closely examine leaves, branches, etc.
