Josie and Layla work on a puzzle of the United States of America.

Lily enjoys a book in the Book Nook.
Ruth works with a new manipulative, called hexabits.

Anahí and Calvin building in the Construction Zone.

We decorated our letter "X" with exclamation points!

 ~CALENDAR~
We have added a thermometer to our calendar time.  We will check the temperature each morning and indicate it on the thermometer pictured below.

~HANDWRITING~
In the lesson pictured below, children learned and practiced the correct way to write an upper case "F" and an upper case "E".  Ask your child to show you how to write it!

Lily uses the wooden pieces to build the letter "F'.

 ~CHINESE NEW YEAR~
We read the story, The Runaway Wok, to learn more about Chinese New Year.  Children brought home a "Year of the Rooster" page and a special gift from the Chinese families at Academy in honor of Chinese New Year.
 ~TALLY MARKS~
Children learned and practiced how to make tally marks, using popsicle sticks.  They also learned the rhyme below to help them remember when to make a tally mark.

~EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
Children visited Mr. Cicetti for Art today.  Many children made puppets!
