WEDNESDAY 1-25-17 and FRIDAY 1-27-17

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY 1-25-17

ASK ME ABOUT...
...where I went and what I did for Work Stations.
...the green dots, the red dots and the yellow dots on our snowman poem.
...what I did in Spanish.
...what I did in my Letter Group.

~SNOWMAN POEM~
Children can practice various skills when reading our snowman poem.  To help with one-to-one correspondence when reading, children know that each green dot represents a word.  The yellow dots remind children to pause and the red dots remind children to stop.

Adding environmental print to our "We can read!" notebook.

~EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
Today we did a Tangram activity on the I-pads.

FANTASTIC FRIDAY
ASK ME ABOUT...
...doing Morning Meeting with our 3rd grade buddies.
...what greeting we taught our buddies.
...what activity our buddies taught us.
...where I went and what I did for Work Stations.
...what letter we learned and practiced writing.
...how we practiced writing the letter with a small chalkboard, a wet sponge, a dry towel and a piece of chalk.
...what I did in P.E.
...the story, A Giraffe and A Half.

~MORNING MESSAGE~
We are excited for Spirit Day!  Ask your child to read the morning message to you.

~MORNING MEETING~
We joined our 3rd grade buddies and did Morning Meeting together.

~STORYTIME~
Today's story was filled with rhymes and silliness!
Since it is Academy Spirit Day, we decorated our letter "V" with vikings!

~P.E. CLASS~
We had fun with the parachute in P.E.!
(sorry for the blurry photo)
During Free Choice, Jordan and Robert fill in the 100 tray with 100 number tiles.  Way to go!
 ~HANDWRITING~
Children learned and practiced writing the letter "L" today.
Using a chalkboard, children practice writing the "L" using a wet sponge, then a dry towel and finally a piece of chalk.

Next, children practice writing the letter in their handwriting books.

~EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
At the end of the afternoon, we headed to the gymnasium for an all-school pep rally!
