ASK ME ABOUT...
...how many days we've been in school.
...what we did to celebrate Zero the Hero Day!
...the new password.
...my new "Book In A Bag".
...what I learned about the life cycle of a butterfly.
...our new "Star of the Week"!
~LIFE CYCLE OF A BUTTERFLY~
We have officially started our study of butterflies! Last Friday, we looked at photo cards of the stages of a butterfly's life...
A butterfly's life begins as an egg.
When a caterpillar hatches from its egg, it is VERY hungry and first eats its own egg shell.
The caterpillar eats and eats causing it to grow and change. When a caterpillar outgrows its skin, it "sheds" its skin as there is new skin underneath. This is called molting.
When the caterpillar attaches itself to a branch, hanging upside-down, it is moving into the chrysalis stage.
Inside of the chrysalis, the caterpillar is transforming into a butterfly.
The caterpillar emerges from the chrysalis!
~WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD~
A note came home in your child's folder about next our "Wee of the Young Child" celebration next week.
~ZERO THE HERO~
We celebrated our 130th day of school today! Heath's family helped us celebrate. His grandfather, "G", read a pirate story and the children made pirate flags while wearing a pirate eye patch. Thank you for helping us celebrate!
~STAR OF THE WEEK~
Heath is our "Star of the Week". We learned that Heath's favorite foods include pizza, applesauce, melon and cantaloupe. When Heath grows up, he wants to be an engineer, a basketball player and a football player. We enjoyed getting to know you better, Heath!
