~NUMBER WRITING~
On Friday, we started our number writing books.  We learned and practiced writing the numbers 1 and 2.  Be sure to ask your child the "poem" we say for each number to help us remember how to write them.

~PASSWORD FUN~
Today we introduced a "mini" activity book for one of our previous passwords--"a".  The children LOVED highlighting this password in a word find and practicing writing this password.  These mini activity books for each password we do will be available to the children in the Writing Station to do during Free Choice time.

Friday was a cooking day!  After reading the story Naughty Little Monkeys, we made Monkey Bread!

First, the children shook a plastic bag filled with sugar and cinnamon to mix them together.

Next, each child cut a biscuit into 4 pieces.

Then, each child placed his/her biscuit pieces into the sugar/cinnamon mixture and shook the bag to coat the biscuit pieces.

The coated biscuit pieces were placed into the pan and then.....

...we poured a butter and brown sugar mixture over the biscuits. 

We baked this in the oven and then ate it for afternoon snack.  This was fun to make and even more fun to eat!
