MARVELOUS MONDAY
10-24-16

ASK ME ABOUT...
...the books we saw from the Book Fair.
...the new password.
...what we used to decorate the letter D and d.
...what we did in P.E.
...the story, the game of Red, yellow and Blue.
...the new Free Choice activities.
...what I did in my Math Group.

~BOOK FAIR~
On Monday, Ruth's mom shared with us some of the books that are available to buy at the Book Fair.  She even read us 2 of the stories!

~FREE CHOICE LEARNING~
Ella counted the jack-o-lanterns in the counting basket.  There were 70!
Children pictured below are working on an activity that uses and strengthens their fine motor muscles.  For this activity, children stretch colored bands over a cup.

In the activity pictured below, children use a dry erase marker to move through the letter maze.

Josie completes a color copy challenge activity.

We decorated our letter D with dots!

~COLORS~
We read a simple book called the game of Red, yellow and Blue, which described what primary colors create a secondary color.  Later, we will do some of our own color mixing to see what happens when mixing colors together.

~MATH GROUPS~
On Monday, we started Math Groups.  Half of the class met with Mrs. Spolter to work on spatial reasoning tasks using pattern blocks.  The other half of the class met with Ms. Penney to work on counting tasks and one-to-one correspondence.  We will switch groups next week.

~EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
Monday was a cooking day.  After reading the story, Too Many Lollipops, we made our own lollipops using jolly rancher candies.

TERRIFIC TUESDAY
10-25-16

ASK ME ABOUT...
....the new greeting we learned (Jump In. Jump Out.).
 ...what I did in Spanish.
...the author who visited our classroom

~AUTHOR VISIT~
Since we are becoming authors in Pre-K, we asked a self- published author to visit our classroom today to share her experience as an author.  Mrs. Faciana is a teacher in the Middle School.  She wrote the story, Snickers' Day Out which is a fiction story starring Mrs. Faciana's dog, Snickers.

~EXTENDED DAY PRE-K~
Today was a Teacher's Choice day and we played games including...Snail's Pace Race, Roll A Jack-o-Lantern, Classmate Memory and Colorama.
